BERKS COUNTY, Pa. - The Berks County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, in conjunction with the Philadelphia DEA Task Force Group 25, have announced an arrest in a case involving the sale of drugs.
Authorities say the investigation identified Ramon Jimenez-Merejildo as an individual selling fentanyl and heroin in the City of Philadelphia and also transporting large amounts of the drugs to Berks County for distribution.
Investigators made several purchases from the suspect, who they allege was selling the product in Berks County and storing it at his residence in the 7100 block of Brous Avenue in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia.
Police say Jimenez-Merejildo was arrested Tuesday in the 5900 block of Perkiomen Avenue in Exeter Twp., Berks County.
At the time of his arrest, police say 5,300 packets of fentanyl/heroin were recovered from the suspect's vehicle.

After executing a warrant at his residence, police say the following evidence was found:
1. 257 bricks of fentanyl/heroin (12,870 total packets.)
2. $3,407 in U.S. currency.
3. 200 grams of bulk fentanyl.
4. (1) digital scale.
Philadelphia DEA Task Force Group 25 obtained a second search warrant for another Philadelphia location and as a result, the following items were found:
1. 16,700 packets of fentanyl/heroin (501 grams.)
2. 11.5 kilograms of bulk fentanyl/heroin (11,500 grams.)
3. Packaging materials and paraphernalia.
4. Fentanyl / heroin stamps: "Redbull," "Gladiator," "Apple Jacks," "Apple."
Authorities say the total street value of the illegal drugs is estimated to be more than $8 million dollars.
The suspect is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession with the intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He's in Berks County Jail on $600,000 bail.
Ramon Jimenez-Merejildo is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
