What to Know About Iran’s Nuclear Program: Advanced Centrifuges

Shortly after the election of President Joe Biden and during his administration’s pursuit of a nuclear agreement with Tehran, Iranian installation of advanced centrifuges surged. Iran installed thousands of centrifuges that produce enriched uranium more quickly than the regime’s earlier models. In February 2021, Iran also ended UN monitoring of its production, assembly, and stockpiling of advanced centrifuges. The regime need only install several hundred of these advanced machines at a secret enrichment plant to produce uranium enriched to weapons-grade within a matter of days.
