ABC News has reportedly fired longtime meteorologist Rob Marciano about one year after he was “banned” from the Good Morning America studio for allegedly making his co-workers feel “uncomfortable,” sources familiar with the situation confirmed to The Daily Beast.

The veteran television personality, who delivered weather reports on GMA and World News Tonight, was handed the pink slip on Tuesday (April 30), the outlet reports. The decision came in light of complaints about his behavior from multiple network employees.

“He was found to have done something … that was improper, but he was punished for it, and they still haven’t let him return,” an insider told Page Six in March 2023.

Other sources claimed Marciano was dealing with “anger management issues” amid his divorce, alleging that he “made people feel uncomfortable” through “a number of alarming events.” The second insider added, “There were times when [Marciano] was very cranky and angry … unsavory behavior on his part. He was pulled off to deal with it and he’s been back.”

DECIDER has reached out to reps for Marciano for comment, but did not hear back by the time of publication.

In September 2023, the network announced that Marciano would no longer provide weather reports on the weekends. However, he insisted he wasn’t going anywhere in an Instagram post celebrating 10 years at ABC News.

“I couldn’t be more pumped to continue this journey with all of you,” he wrote. “I always dreamed of working for this network as a kid, and my children are equally psyched that I will now be home most weekends! I’ll continue doing what I’m doing, contributing across all ABC shows and platforms Mon-Fri, while getting more quality time with my kiddos on the weekends.”

Marciano added that he was also working on an “exciting new project with NatGeo.”

His final report for World News Tonight was posted on Sunday (April 28). The news package brought viewers down to Shreveport, LA, which is still recovering from a devastating storm.
