We’re taking a look at the days of the week and, as it shook out, our best bet for living fully is tapping into the energy inherent in each.
Just as every zodiac sign has a ruling planet, so, too, does every day of the week. The names of the days are related to rulers and gods of yore, including: Sunday is the sun’s day, Monday belongs to the moon, Saturday to Saturn, etc.
While Sunday is built for revelry and Monday for rumination, Thursday is made for rolling dice, placing bets and pushing luck.

Thursday translates to “Thor’s-day,” named in honor of the Norse god of thunder, a deity closely akin to Jupiter, aka Zeus, aka the god of lightning, aka king of kings, swan seducer and father slayer.
Astrologically speaking, Jupiter is the modern ruler of Sagittarius and the ancient ruler of Pisces. The planet is associated with luck and levity, expansion, epic journeys and enduring optimism.
Jupiter is the drunk uncle of the planetary lineup, equal parts vital and jovial, bestowing blessings, urging us to believe that the best is yet to come and egging everyone to drink heartily from the cup of life with the promise that it will be refilled to the brim for our benefit.
In ancient statuary, Jupiter/Zeus is oft depicted holding an overflowing, curiously phallic cornucopia or horn of plenty. This symbol of never-ending nourishment reminds us that a scarcity mindset has no place at the table of dreams.
It is interesting to note that Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence on Jupiter’s day, and the Bill of Rights also was signed into being on Thursday. The underbelly of Jupiter’s exuberance is unchecked excess and overextension. Thus, it is no surprise that Thanksgiving, our national day of colonial decadence, falls on Thursday.

We can use the plenitude energy of Thursday to feed our heads through educational pursuits, expand our minds with plant medicine, seek the guidance of gurus, sit in ceremonies, literally count our blessings and/or make plans to see strange shores.
