Robert F. Kennedy Jr. this month has received public criticism from both Donald Trump and Democrats as he blazes the campaign trail as an Independent presidential candidate.

Politico reported Monday that the longtime conspiracy theorist was in Boston fundraising "in a series of private events" at the same hotel "he launched his quixotic presidential bid just over a year ago."

A volunteer for Kennedy's events told the news outlet, "If Republicans and Democrats see him as a threat, that’s a good thing, because not a lot of people realize he’s running."

The Independent candidate is so serious about running that he's still building out his campaign team.

The Kennedy campaign announced Tuesday that it has hired an ex-GOP spokesperson who called the January 6 attack on the US Capitol a "Democrat misdirection," according to NBC News.

"J6 was no MAGA insurrection Just more Democrat misdirection,” Zach Henry wrote via X (formerly Twitter) in March of 2023, according to the report.

Henry formerly served as failed GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy's deputy communications director before Kennedy's campaign tapped "his firm Total Virality for 'influencer engagement' in March," NBC reports.

In 2022, the news outlet reports "he called the House committee investigation into the attack a 'witch hunt of patriots' that 'must face a reckoning.'"
