Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was shredded on social media Tuesday after the House Judiciary Committee shared his most recent angry letter directed at a prosecutor who levied charges against former President Donald Trump.

Tuesday's letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland targets Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, the prosecutor who accuses Trump of falsifying business records to cover up adult film star hush money payments ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

Specifically, Jordan wants to know about former Justice zdepartment official Matthew Colangelo, hired in 2022 as Bragg's senior counsel.

"Given the perception that the Justice Department is assisting in Bragg's politicized prosecution, we write to request information and documents related to Mr. Colangelo's employment," the letter declares. "Mr. Colangelo's recent employment history demonstrates his obsession with investigating a person rather than prosecuting a crime."

This argument mirrors that of the former president, who has argued the four criminal cases he faces — in federal and state courts in Washington D.C., Florida, Georgia and New York — are the result of a political witch hunt.

Jordan appears to align himself with Trump's theory, and has sent such letters to District Attorney Fani Willis, as well as President Joe Biden's ghostwriter.

For their part, Democrats link Trump's criminal charges to his own conduct before his two presidential elections.

That may be why Jordan faced ridicule on social media.

"Oh goodie!" replied X user Spitfire. "Another investigation that leads to ZERO consequences."

"Oh good,' added @apathetic_tears. "Another 'investigation' by the feckless GOP that will use up taxpayer dollars so they can do absolutely nothing."

"More letters," quipped X user Nick. "That's the trick."

Concluded Ryan Bartley, "Jim Jordan dropping nothing burgers daily."
