“Million Dollar Listing New York” alum Steve Gold is about to list his Soho loft for $10.8 million, Gimme Shelter has learned — and it’s all because there’s a baby on the way.
The three-bedroom, 3½-bath penthouse takes up the top floor of 22 Wooster St., a five-story cast-iron and brick building built in 1920.
Gold, of the Corcoran Group, is the home’s sole broker. He first listed the co-op, which had a close-up in an Architectural Digest feature, for $9.95 million in December 2021. But he pulled the listing — even after he received an offer.
“We weren’t ready to move, and decided to stay,” said Gold, who lives with his partner, Luiza Gawlowska, and their darling daughter Rose.
But now as the family is expanding again, Gold tells Gimme Shelter exclusively, it’s time to find a bigger place.
“We are staying in the city,” he said, adding that one building he is considering is One High Line, where he is co-leading sales with fellow Corcoran broker Deborah Kern — and where two penthouses asking $49 million and $52 million are in contract.
And while Gold did buy a 10.5-acre, $7.3 million estate in Greenwich, Conn., in 2022 — not far from his hometown of Stamford — he says he has no plans to move in.
“That’s an investment property,” he said.
Gold’s fifth-floor penthouse was gut-renovated “down to the studs,” he said.
It features 11-foot ceilings, exposed beams and columns, and 16-inch-wide hardwood floors. That’s all along with 14 new windows and five skylights, stone imported from Italy and custom Venetian plasterwork by artist Benjamin Lai.

A great room, with frontage on charming cobblestoned streets, provides plenty of space for an open living/dining area. Details include floating art walls and a rounded alcove off the great room, currently set up as a “TV nook,” according to the listing. That could be used to create stairs to the roof, as private outdoor space would be available for purchase from the building “by separate agreement.”
A sky-lit chef’s kitchen comes with an island that seats six for cooking while entertaining. There’s a second kitchen down the hall with a pocket door, dual ovens, a warming drawer and a wine cooler. A small home office with a large arched window is tucked away off the great room.
The main bedroom suite features dual walk-in closets, with custom metal and glass shelving, and integrated lighting. There’s also a spa-like bath with radiant heat floors.
The 13-unit building is between Grand and Canal streets.
