Ross Mathews might know Drew Barrymore better than she knows herself. On this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Mathews suggested that the actress could go to jail for “invading” peoples’ personal space.

The co-hosts linked up with yet another lovable dynamic duo — singer Meghan Trainor and TikTok star Chris Olsen — for a game of “Pop Quiz” in which they had to answer random questions about their besties.

“If your bestie were to go to jail, what would it be for?” Trainor read. But before she could answer the question, Olsen admitted that he, like Barrymore, once went to rehab, adding, “There were some crazy moments back in the day.”

However, Barrymore would find herself behind bars for a much different reason — at least, according to Mathews.

“I think Drew would probably be arrested for like … hugging a stranger,” he speculated. “Like, invading people — like, ‘Hi. I don’t know you. But I’m hugging you so hard.'”

Barrymore then asked, “Can you get arrested for that?” to which Mathews playfully replied, “If anyone could, you could. Yes. That is one of the most beautiful things about her. She will crawl in your lap even if she doesn’t know you.”

The 50 First Dates star, on the other hand, thought she would get arrested for “public urination.”

“Can I change my answer?” Mathews joked. “Public urination! Because she will pop a squat.”

It’s no secret that Barrymore likes to get handsy with some of her guests. If they’re not cuddled up on a couch together, they’re either having deep heart-to-hearts on the floor or she’s holding their hands. But it’s not only the celebrities who get to experience her love!

Just last week, The Drew Barrymore Show shared a touching behind-the-scenes interaction between Barrymore and an audience member. In the clip, the fan tearfully seeks consolation from Barrymore as she opens up about her struggle with moving from Italy to the U.S. last August. When the fan asked the star for a hug, Barrymore walked into the audience and had her sit on her lap.

The Drew Barrymore Show airs on weekdays on CBS. You can check the website for local airtimes.
