‘Live’s Mark Consuelos Stuns Kelly Ripa After Admitting He Kissed A Soccer Fan When His Team Won: “I Laid One On Her”

Live with Kelly and Mark kicked off in a celebratory mood this morning — not only was co-host Mark Consuelos back at work, but he had plenty to smile about after his Italian soccer team won their championship match.

Consuelos detailed all of the revelry that took place after his team’s big victory, including a moment when his emotions got the better of him, prompting him to get up close and personal with one of his team’s supporters.

“Thousands of fans” joined in on the festivities, Consuelos said, although many of them were confined behind plexiglass to keep crowds at bay.

“It gets very dramatic in Italian football,” Consuelos explained. “And I’m running and the fans, seeing little kids and old guys and fans, people have been watching… and are just so happy to be back in the professional leagues.”

He continued, “I see this lady. Let’s call her my aunt … maybe someone else’s aunt. Not my aunt. Someone else’s aunt. And we look at each other and she’s so excited. And there’s this glass, and we come to the glass, and you know what? I kissed her.”

Kelly Ripa, who had been listening raptly to Consuelos’ recap, asked, “Do we have footage of this?”

While there was no footage of the kiss, Consuelos was happy to provide a reenactment: “I just went,” he said, miming pointing at someone before adding, “and she went,” while pretending to nod back. He then confessed, “I actually closed my eyes.”

Ripa exclaimed, “That doesn’t happen. You never close your eyes!” But Consuelos took it one step further, adding, “I closed my eyes and my back foot went up. I laid one on her.”

Needing to get the full scoop, Ripa replied, “That is incredible. With an open mouth?”

Her husband insisted, “No, no. It was like a smooch. But it was passionate,” which prompted Ripa to question, “Did you have an emotional affair?”

Consuelos, cracking up at this point, told her, “No. It could have been a guy, by the way. I don’t know.”

But Ripa wasn’t buying it.

“Don’t try to save yourself now,” she quipped. “You’ve already qualified this as somebody’s aunt.”
