More than a hundred tornadoes have caused massive devastation in various parts of the United States, resulting in at least five fatalities, as reported by nu.nl.

Oklahoma has been particularly hard hit, with four fatalities reported, including a four-month-old baby. Additionally, one fatality occurred in Iowa. The storms have left tens of thousands of households without power.

On Friday, the National Weather Service recorded 78 tornadoes, mainly in Nebraska and Iowa. On Saturday, due to separate weather conditions, an additional 35 tornadoes were reported, primarily in the northern regions of Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri.

While powerful tornadoes are not uncommon in the spring in the central United States, meteorologists note the unusual occurrence of such large outbreaks happening consecutively.

The stormy weather has brought nearly 20 centimeters of rain in some areas within a few hours. Floods, hail, and further tornadoes have been warned of in many regions. In response, Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma has declared a state of emergency.
