According to the Washington Post, over the past 10 days, American police have detained approximately 900 individuals during demonstrations held in support of Palestine on the campuses of several major national universities.

These measures were taken in response to large-scale protest actions organized by students against the Israeli operation in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in casualties among civilians.

Protests, which intensified following the approval of a new aid package to Israel by the US, led to the arrest of hundreds of participants.

White House representative John Kirby stated that President Joe Biden understands the need for expressing civil dissatisfaction but insists on the peaceful nature of protests. However, the arrests have raised concerns about potential issues related to citizens’ rights.
