During a control operation in Belgium, police apprehended a driver who owed the state over 6.2 million euros in unpaid fines. As he was unable to pay the amount, the police confiscated his car, RTL Info reports.

In southern Limburg, Belgian police and customs conducted a large-scale operation. It turned out that one of the arrested motorists owed the state a large sum of money, and the total amount of his fines amounted to 6,238,607 euros. After studying the dossier of this individual, the Federal Public Service of Finance (SPF) confirmed the amount of this exceptional fine.

The nature of the fines was not specified. The man’s car was confiscated by the police.
