A five-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being struck by an SUV while crossing the street after school earlier this week in Georgia.
Isaiah Silva suffered severe head trauma and was placed in a medically induced coma on Thursday, as reported by WALB.
He was running across a street near Len Lastinger Elementary School after being dismissed around 2.55pm on Tuesday, officials said.
'It's horrible. It's like being in a nightmare and wanting to wake up, but I can't,' the boy's father, Arnie Silva, said.
Pictures shared by the family show the little boy lying in a bed after the harrowing incident, with tubes and wires winding around his body, connecting to various monitors and IV bags.

He was running across a street near Len Lastinger Elementary School after being dismissed around 2.55pm on Tuesday, officials said
Isaiah 'began to run across Lake Drive within a crosswalk and traveled into the path of a 2021 Chevrolet Suburban,' Georgia State Patrol said in a release.
The were no signs that the 71-year-old driver, who has not been identified, was speeding, authorities added.
No charges are expected, and the crash is still under investigation, officials said.
A speed limit sign for 25 miles per hour is posted, but there are no blinking lights for the school zone in Tifton, Georgia.
'I am so upset. I'm literally upset I've been up all night. Haven't had any sleep. Sitting by the bedside of my child watching him bleed out of his nose, and his mouth and his head,' Silva said.
After the crash, Isaiah was airlifted to a hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, where he underwent a series of surgeries.
The medical staff had to rebuild his face, said the child's grandfather, Franklin Pearson.
According to the family, there was no crossing guard present when the five-year-old was running across the street.
'Why does it always have to be someone getting killed or hurt like this for people to say oh we need to do this. It shouldn't have to take this to happen for people to open up their eyes and say "Oh,"' Silva said.
Pearson revisited the crash site and shared a video on his Facebook page, showing blood stains left on the road.
'Where are the crossing lights for the school? Where is the person who's supposed to be walking with the kids? Pearson asked.
'Something needs to be done in the state of Georgia in regard to this. Poor little guy has to have a major surgery now,' he said in the video.

'He will be under medically coma for a few more days to watch his vitals and everything and make him stable,' the post reads.
'The doctors took him down to CT due to his left pupil not reacting earlier. Yesterday they said it was sluggish and now it's not reacting,' it continues.
Chief Technology Officer of Tifton County Schools Jonathan Judy said: 'Our job is to protect children that's our job that's what we're, here for that's what we do accidents happen and there are times when things happen that we wish didn't happen.'
'[We] will do everything in our power to make sure those things are prevented in the future as best as we possibly can,' Judy added.
