Chaos on London's Tube as workers stage fresh strike, with four stations shut and several lines disrupted - while 'casualty on tracks' sparks delays

Chaos has ensued on London's Tube network as four stations are closed and several lines are disrupted due to workers staging a fresh strike.

Highgate, Pimlico, Regents Park and Tufnell Park stations are all shut today due to industrial action being taken by station staff.

Separately, the District and Hammersmith and City lines are part suspended due to a 'casualty on the tracks' today.

There is no service on the Hammersmith & City line between Liverpool Street and Barking, with good service on the rest of the line. 

There is also no service on the District line between Tower Hill and Upminster, with severe delays on the rest of the line.

Elsewhere there are minor delays on three lines for separate reasons.

The Bakerloo line is delayed between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone due to an trespasser on the track earlier at Wembley Central.

The Piccadilly line has minor delays between Acton Town and Heathrow and Uxbridge due to a track fault at Acton Town.

Following the industrial action which brought the country to a standstill a fortnight ago, train drivers at 16 rail companies are set to strike over pay again in early May.

Alongside these walkouts in the coming weeks is more disruption on the London Underground, along with strikes by airport staff, security guards and teachers.

Customer service managers on London Underground are staginf a fresh strike in a dispute over terms and conditions.

Members of the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association (TSSA) walked out today and are banning overtime until May 5.

The union said the action is likely to cause Tube stations to close at the last minute, including into Saturday morning.
