Prescription Drug Take Back Day returns this weekend

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Local law enforcement is joining together for the 15th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this Saturday.

The Warren County Drug Task Force, along with the Bowling Green Police Department, Smith’s Grove Police Department, Kentucky State Police, DEA and other agencies, are hosting the event on Saturday, April 27.

According to the Warren County Drug Task Force, the majority of opioid addictions in the U.S. start with prescription pills in medicine cabinets. To combat this, authorities are asking the public to discard these unused medications.

The drug take back lasts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Bowling Green Police Department, 911 Kentucky Street, operated by Drug Task Force and Bowling Green Police.
  • Kentucky State Police, Post 3 at 3119 Nashville Road, in Bowling Green.
  • Greenwood High School – Front Parking Lot, prescription drug take back operated by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Smiths Grove City Hall, 146 South Main Street, Smiths Grove, KY, prescription drug take back operated by the Smiths Grove Police Department.

This service is free and anonymous, according to authorities.
