Judgments are expected against three accomplices of the assailant who killed four people in Vienna in November 2020, as reported by Kurier.

The Supreme Court ordered a new trial to clarify whether they were members of a terrorist organization. The defendants have already been convicted of aiding murder, but the question of their connection to the “Islamic State” remains contentious.

The prosecution is seeking the maximum penalty for their involvement in the murders. The retrial was necessary due to errors in the legal instructions given to the jurors.

The convictions for aiding murder remain in place.
